Business and Litigation Attorney Dan Witte Joins PEARSON BUTLER Law

Business and litigation attorney Dan Witte joins the law offices of PEARSON BUTLER Law and has been appointed to Chair the Litigation Department as well as add additional strength to the Business Law Department.  Dan brings a wealth of legal knowledge pertaining to business and litigation matters.


In June 2014, attorney Dan Witte became a member (equity partner) of PEARSON BUTLER Law.  As a business attorney, he provides “general counsel” services to business owners, such as small business owners needing legal support.  He provides a range of support in relation to business planning, financial planning, and tax planning.  Dan also litigates on behalf of the firm.

From 2009-2014, Dan worked for McCormick Barstow LLP, focusing on complex fraud, business emergency, intellectual property, and complex insurance matters in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento, Seattle, and Salt Lake City.  His experience includes the prosecution of multi-million dollar disputes on behalf of some of the largest companies in the world.

From 2002-09, Dan supervised corporation-wide litigation activities and served as Associate General Counsel for a life insurance company in Salt Lake City, Utah.

From 2000-2002, Dan worked as a commercial litigator with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, in Palo Alto, California.  His matters included commercial, securities, consumer protection, corporate, lease, and international law matters for fortune 500 companies.

During the 1999-2000 court term, Dan clerked for the Honorable Alan Norris, U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, Columbus, Ohio.

Honors and Awards:

Attorney Dan Witte was the youngest graduate of BYU in his graduating baccalaureate class at the age of 19.  In 2008-2009, Dan completed the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Life Underwriter (CLU) from American College.  (Both are currently on inactive status.)
